FBM233 Redundant Field Equipment System
FBM233 Redundant Field Device System Integration (FDSI) module is a single or dual port field I/O device and EcoStruxure ™ Foxboro DCS provides Ethernet interfaces between them.
Each FBM233 module front-end has an RJ-45 connector (10/100Mbps copper Ethernet connection) that can be used to connect dual port Ethernet devices.
FBM233 is connected to Ethernet switches or hubs for communication with one external device or up to 64 external devices.
The combination of a pair of modules can provide redundancy at the fieldbus module (FBM) level.
In this configuration, one FBM233 is the master station and the other is the tracking module.
The input points on the control station are updated by the device input points received from the network connected to the main station.
The output point of the device (depending on the I/O driver) is jointly written by the main control module and the tracking module.
If the I/O driver detects an issue (such as any device losing heartbeat), it will automatically switch roles, and users can also switch roles at any time through SMDH.
