TDI is the main interface software between 3500 racks and configuration, display, and status monitoring. Each rack requires one TDI, located in a slot adjacent to the power supply. TDI supports 3500 configuration software for configuring racks and 3500 operator display software for retrieving rack data and status.
TDI also provides a direct interface with System1 * status monitoring and diagnostic software without the need for an external communication processor.
The rack OK relay is located within the I/O module of TDI. It consists of TDI itself and other modules within the rack. Dozens of possible events within the rack can drive the rack OK relay to a NOTOK state.
Therefore, the rack OK relay is not intended to be used as part of a mechanical automatic shutdown loop and should only be used for general notification purposes.
In addition to the functions provided by TDI, TDI also supports self monitoring of individual monitors, relays, communication, and other modules for itself and the rack. Although TDI provides some universal functions for the entire rack, it is not a part of the protection function for critical monitoring paths and their machines.
TDI has four front panel LEDs that provide the following indications:
OK indicates that the TDI module and its I/O module are operating normally.
TX/RX flashes at the communication rate between TDI and other rack modules.
TM indicates when the rack is in multi trip mode.
Normal configuration indicates that any module in the rack is not configured or has configuration errors; The storage configuration of TDI does not match the physical configuration of the rack; Or rather, the security option conditions have not been met.
The BENTLY Bentley 3500/60 temperature module system configuration is protected by a keylock switch on the front of the TDI and two levels of software password protection to prevent unauthorized changes or tampering with configuration settings.
TDI can be connected to a portable computer through the front panel USB communication port for local configuration changes. TDI provides a permanent system connection through an Ethernet port.
It also provides front panel DIP switches for assigning unique rack addresses when multiple 3500 racks are connected to each other.
TDI has a system reset switch on the front panel to clear any locked alarms and abnormal conditions in the system.
The I/O module provides a set of rear panel connections for remote activation of system reset, trip multiplication, and rack alarm suppression functions.
