133811-03 Power Module
The 3500 power supply is a half height module that must be installed in a specially designed slot on the left side of the frame. The 3500 rack can be equipped with one or two power supplies (any combination of AC or DC). Any one of the power sources can provide power to the entire framework. If two power supplies are installed, the second power supply can serve as a backup for the first power supply. When installing two power supplies, the upper power supply serves as the main power supply and the lower power supply serves as the backup power supply. As long as one power supply is installed, removing or installing the second power module will not affect the operation of the framework. The 3500 power supply can accept a wide range of input voltages and convert this input voltage into a voltage that other 3500 modules can accept.
For the 3500 mechanical protection system, there are three types of power sources:
1. AC power supply
2. High voltage DC power supply
3. Low voltage DC power supply
Enter power options:
175 to 264 Vac rms: (247 to 373 Vac, pk), 47 to 63 Hz. This option uses AC power and is a high voltage (usually 220V) AC power input module (PIM). The installation of AC power input modules (PIMs) before version R and/or power modules before version M requires a voltage input of 175 to 250 Vac rms.
85 to 132 Vac rms: (120 to 188 Vac, pk), 47 to 63 Hz. This option uses AC power and is low voltage (on)
Constant 110V AC power input module (PIM). The installation of AC power input modules (PIMs) before version R and/or power modules before version M requires a voltage input of 85 to 125 Vac rms.
88 to 140 Vdc: This option uses a DC power supply and is a high voltage DC power input module (PIM). 20 to 30 Vdc: This option is a low-voltage DC power supply, which is a low-voltage DC power supply module (PIM).
Over limit protection: For all power supply types, low voltage will not damage the power supply or PIM. An out of range voltage will open the fuse on the PIM.
