EMERSON A6312 Dual Channel Speed
A6312 The speed and critical monitor is designed for high reliability of the most critical rotating machinery in the factory, and can monitor speed, phase, zero speed, and rotation direction.
This 1-slot monitor can be used together with the AMS 6500 monitor to form a complete API 670 mechanical protection monitor.
The application scope includes steam, gas, compressors, and hydraulic turbine machinery.
The speed and key monitors can be configured in redundant mode to automatically switch from the primary speed to the backup speed.
The sensor gap voltage and pulse counting/comparison are monitored to trigger switching.
When the speed and key monitors operate in redundant mode, the primary key and fault switch key or speed displacement sensor must be installed on the same axial plane to ensure phase continuity during fault switching.
A6312 Speed measurement includes displacement sensors installed inside the machine, which target gears, keyways, or gears rotating on the shaft.
The purpose of speed measurement is to issue an alarm at zero speed, monitor reverse rotation, and provide speed measurement values to track process conditions for advanced analysis.
Key or phase measurement is also composed of displacement sensors, but must have a target for each revolution, rather than gears or gears as targets.
Phase measurement is a key parameter for detecting changes in the health status of machines.
