3500/25 Enhanced Keyphasor Module
3500/25 is an enhanced key phase module developed by Bently Nevada. It is a half height, dual channel module used to transmit key signals to the monitor module in the 3500 rack. When the Keyphasor marker on the axis aligns with the Keyphasor sensor, the module uses a magnetic sensor or proximity probe to detect the alignment and converts the input signal into a digital Keyphasor signal.
3500/25 Function Description
For regular settings, the 3500 mechanical protection system can accept up to four key trust numbers, and for paired configurations, it can accept up to eight.
The event pulse (called key signal) of each rotation or multiple rotations of the rotating shaft or gear can be used for precise timing detection.
Therefore, the 3500 monitoring module and external diagnostic tools can measure shaft speed and vector characteristics, such as 1X vibration amplitude and phase.
Enhanced Keyphasor Module
The enhanced 3500 system module is called the enhanced key phase module. While maintaining full backward compatibility in terms of shape, fit, and functionality with existing Keyphasor modules used for legacy systems, it provides higher Keyphasor signal processing capabilities than previous designs. The revised 149369-01 module completely replaces the Keyphasor module, PWA 125792-01.
Whenever a Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) application requires system key phase input, the 3500 system should use two key phase modules. In this setup, modules run in parallel, providing primary and secondary key signals to other modules in the rack.
If the number of primary phase input signals does not exceed four, a system with four or more key phase inputs can use paired arrangement.
3500/25 operation
Pairing configuration requires continuous monitoring at either the upper/lower half slot position or two half slot positions. The four Keyphasor modules will provide four output channels and accept four primary and four backup input channels (one for each module).
It is also feasible to set up three Keyphasor modules, two coupled and one unpaired. Users can configure a single unpaired Keyphasor in this way (ordering two 2-channel or one 1-channel and one 2-channel options)
Isolation key phase input/output module
The Isolated Keyphasor I/O module is suitable for situations where many devices are simultaneously connected to Keyphasor signals and need to be isolated from other systems, such as control systems.
Although primarily designed for magnetic pickup applications, isolated I/O modules are compatible with Proximitor * applications and provide isolation as long as an external power source is provided.
The main objective of this I/O module is to measure shaft speed rather than phase. This module can provide phase measurement, although it introduces a larger phase shift compared to the non isolated I/O version. Creating event signals for each round from multiple event inputs, on-site upgradable firmware, and asset management data reports are examples of enhancing product functionality.
Input signal specifications
Magnetic pickups or proximity probe transducers can send up to two transducer signals to each key phase module. The input signal range for non isolated I/O modules is+0.8 V to 21.0 V, while for isolated I/O modules it is+5 V to -11 V.
Signals beyond this range will be subject to internal limitations of the module. Passive magnetic pickups (3.3 Hz) require shaft speeds exceeding 200 rpm. Magnetic pickups or proximity probe transducers can send up to two transducer signals to each key phase module. Buffer key trust number
There are two coaxial connectors with buffer key phase outputs at the front of the rack. In addition, two buffer key phase outputs with European style connections can be accessed on the back of the rack.

Keyphase sensor power supply
The power supply for the key phase sensor is -24 Vdc, with a maximum of 40 mA per channel.

Main module
1 half height front slot
In order to be installed in the full height slot, the half height main module requires a unique installation adapter. Users can insert the main module into any of the 14 accessible slots. Each rack can only have two main modules, one at the top and one at the bottom half slot.
