146031-01 Transient Data Interface I/O Module
146031-01 is a transient data interface I/O module developed by Bently Nevada. It is a 10Base-T/100Base TX I/O module component of the 3500/22M system. The 3500 monitoring system and related software (System 1 status monitoring and diagnostic software and 3500 system configuration software) are connected through the Transient Data Interface (TDI).
146031-01 Function Description
TDI has a built-in static data capture function. However, the channel enable disk is an optional device that enables TDI to also record dynamic and high-resolution transient data. The 3500 rack contains communication processing functions for TDI.
The 3500/22M series transient data interface connects the 3500 monitoring system to Bentley Nevada’s System 1 mechanical management software. TDI combines the functionality of the 3500/20 rack interface module with the data collection capabilities of communication processors such as TDXnet.
TDI works with M-series monitors (3500/40M, 3500/42M, etc.) in the RIM slot of the 3500 rack, continuously capturing steady-state and transient waveform data, and transmitting it to the host software through an Ethernet link. TDI captures static data by default, but installing an additional channel enable disk also allows you to record dynamic or transient data.
In addition to implementing communication processor functionality within the 3500 rack, TDI has also enhanced previous communication processors in multiple areas.
TDI performs certain functions shared across the entire rack; However, TDI is not a part of the critical monitoring channel and will not affect the correct and normal performance of the entire monitoring system. Each rack requires a TDI or RIM. TDI only occupies one slot in the rack and is always located in slot 1 (near the power supply).
The 3500 system requires TMR version TDI for triple module redundancy (TMR) applications. In addition to all conventional TDI functions, TMR TDI also performs “monitoring channel comparison”. The monitoring voting is conducted using the layout provided in the monitoring options with a 3500 TMR configuration. Using this method, TMR TDI compares the outputs of three redundant monitors in real-time.
If TMR determines that information from one monitor is no longer equal to information from the other two monitors (within a specified percentage range), it will mark that monitor as an error and record an event in the system event list.
