3500/53 overspeed detection module

The electronic overspeed detection system of Bentley’s 3500 series mechanical inspection system is a highly reliable and responsive redundant tachometer system specifically designed for mechanical overspeed protection. The 3500/53 module can be used to form a 2-for-2 or 3-for-2 (recommended) voting system. The 3500 framework for installing the overspeed detection system requires a redundant power supply.

Each overspeed detection module receives a signal from an eddy current sensor or magnetic sensor, with an input signal range of+10.0V to -24.0V. The signal exceeds this range and is restricted within the module. Suitable for Bentley 3300 8mm eddy current sensor, 3300 16mm high-temperature eddy current sensor (HTPS), 7200 5mm, 8mm, 11mm, and 14mm eddy current sensors, 3300 RAM eddy current sensor, or magnetic sensor.

 

 

 

Bently 3500/53 overspeed protection module is designed as a channel module, which is applicable to overspeed protection applications of two module or three module groups. The module receives speed pulse input signals from proximity sensors or magneto electric sensors and uses this input signal to drive alarms. In order to achieve machine protection purposes, the module provides four types of fast response alarm relay outputs. The 3500 overspeed protection system is configured as a two module two choice meter block or a three module two choice voting setting.

The basic purpose of the 3500 overspeed protection system is to provide 1) machine protection by continuously comparing the current machine speed with the configured alarm setpoint to drive alarms, and 2) important machine speed information to operators and maintenance personnel. Use the 3500 framework configuration software to set alarm setpoints.

When shipped from the factory, the 3500/53 was not configured. When needed, in order to achieve the required monitoring function, the 3500/53 can be installed into the 3500 framework and configured.

 

 

 

As part of the 3500 machine management and protection system, the three channel 3500/53 overspeed protection system provides high reliability overspeed protection. The three channel overspeed protection system includes a 3500 frame, 3500 power supply, frame interface module, and three independent overspeed protection modules. Require three independent sensor inputs. The 3500/53 module can be installed in any slot on the right side of the framework interface module (2-15), but three module groups must be installed adjacent to each other. Only one set of overspeed protection system can be installed in each 3500 framework. The 3500/53 overspeed protection system can be installed in 3500 frames with other 3500 monitoring functions.

The three channel overspeed protection system provides three independent speed monitoring channels. When an alarm is triggered, the three channel overspeed protection system can be configured to provide a voting function of selecting 2 from 3. When equipped with this function, the alarm outputs from each module are compared, and the two modules must be consistent before the relay is driven.
