The Bently Nevada 3500/61 temperature monitor provides six temperature monitoring channels and accepts temperature inputs from resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and thermocouples (TCs). These modules regulate these inputs and compare them with user programmable alarm setpoints. The 3500/61 provides the same functionality, except that it provides recorder output for each of its six channels.
Users use 3500 rack configuration software to program modules to perform RTD or TC temperature measurements. Different I/O modules can be used for RTD/TC non isolated or TC isolated versions. Users can configure RTD/TC non isolated versions to accept TC or RTD, or a mixture of TC and RTD inputs. The TC isolation version provides 250 Vdc inter channel isolation to prevent external interference.
When used in a Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) configuration, temperature monitors must be installed side by side in groups of three. When used in this configuration, the system adopts two types of voting to ensure accurate operation and avoid single point of failure.
