The GE/Bently Nevada 3500/05 system rack design can accommodate all 3500 monitor modules and rack power supplies. It allows various 3500 modules to communicate with each other and allows power to be allocated to each module as needed. Full size rack: 19 inch EIA rack with 14 available module slots 2. Mini rack: 12 inch rack with 7 available module slots. 3500 racks are manufactured in three formats: 1. Panel installation: This rack format is installed on a rectangular cut in the panel and secured to the panel using the fixture provided with the rack. The wiring connections and I/O modules can be operated from the rear of the rack.
2. Rack installation: This rack format installs 3500 racks on 19 inch EIA rails_ On. The wiring connections and I/O modules can be operated from the rear of the rack. 3. Partition installation: When it is not possible to operate from the rear of the rack, this rack format can install the rack on a wall or panel. The wiring connections and I/O modules can be accessed from the front of the rack. The 3500/05 micro rack does not have this format. The power supply and rack interface module must be located in the leftmost rack position. The remaining 14 rack positions (7 rack positions for micro racks) can be used for any module combination.

135137-01 is a position/O module with internal terminals, used for proximitors, RPTs, or DC LVDTs. It was designed and developed by Bentley Nevada. It is part of the 3500/45 monitoring system. The position monitor is a 4-channel device that can receive inputs from rotary potentiometers, proximity sensors, DC linear variable differential transformers, AC linear variable differential transformers, and rotary position sensors (RPTs).
The main function of the position monitor is to provide the following functions:
● By continuously comparing monitoring parameters and predefined alarm settings, alarms are triggered to protect the machine.
● Important machine knowledge for operation and maintenance personnel
The 3500/15 AC and DC power supplies accept a wide range of input voltages and convert them into voltages acceptable to other 3500 modules. The following power supplies are available for the 3500 series machine protection system: – General AC
Power supply – High voltage DC power supply – Low voltage DC power supply

Another application of the 3500/25 125792-01 four slot backplane is to implement redundant control systems using two real-time automation controller (RTAC) modules. The original ten slot backplane is suitable for large-scale control applications with more centralized input and output. Both the Axion RTAC module and SEL-3530 RTAC now support IEC 61850 GOOSE, which can receive up to 120 messages and send 48 messages, providing greater flexibility in integrating various intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). SEL continues to develop new features for Axion. Later this year, various input/output (I/O) modules will be released, including DC analog input, AC metering, fast high current digital output, and DC analog output modules, to expand Axion’s monitoring and control capabilities.

3500/25 125792-01 will also increase flexibility in protocol selection, supporting IEC 61850 multimedia messaging and IEC 60870-5 in the RTAC product line.
