Auxiliary relay is a large number of relays in PLC. The general auxiliary relay is similar to the intermediate relay in the relay control system.
The auxiliary relay cannot directly drive the external load, and the load can only be driven by the external contact of the output relay. The normally open and normally closed contacts of the auxiliary relay can be used repeatedly when programming inside the PLC.
The auxiliary relay is numbered by M and decimal number (octal number is only used for input and output relays).
1. General auxiliary relay (M0 ～ M499)
FX2N series has a total of 500 universal auxiliary relays. When the general auxiliary relay is in PLC operation, if the power supply is suddenly cut off, all coils will be OFF. When the power supply is turned on again, except for those that become ON due to external input signals, the rest will remain OFF, and they have no power-off protection function. General auxiliary relay is often used as auxiliary operation, state temporary storage, shift, etc. in logic operation.
According to the needs, M0 ～ M499 can be changed into power-off holding auxiliary relay through program setting.
2. Power-off hold auxiliary relay (M500 ～ M3071)
FX2N series has a total of 2572 power-off holding auxiliary relays from M500 to M3071. It is different from ordinary auxiliary relay in that it has power-off protection function, that is, it can memorize the instantaneous state of power interruption and reproduce its state after power-on again. The reason why it can maintain its original state when the power supply is cut off is that it uses the lithium battery in the PLC to maintain the contents of their image registers when the power supply is cut off. M500 ～ M1023 can be set as general auxiliary relay by software.
